เนื้อหาโดยสังเขป

หนังสือศิลปะการปิดทองเล่มนี้ เรียบเรียงขึ้นมาเพื่อประกอบการศึกษาวิธีการการสร้างลายรดน้ำด้วยกรรมวิธีต่าง ๆ กัน ทั้งแบบพื้นฐานตามอย่างโบราณ จนกระทั่งวิธีการนำเสนอเทคนิคในรูปแบบใหม่ ๆ ที่ประยุกต์ขึ้น ณ ปัจจุบันนี้ เพื่อดำรงไว้ซึ่งศิลปะด้านจิตรกรรมไทยประเภทลวดลายไทย ที่มีมาในสมัยโบราณซึ่งยิ่งใหญ่วิจิตรอลังการเป็นที่สุด และเพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการเรียนรู้เรื่องลายรดล้ำที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของชาติไทยเรา
ดังนั้น หนังสือเล่มนี้จึงประกอบไปด้วยรูปภาพ ที่เป็นภาพผลงานฝีมือช่างลายรดน้ำในยุคสมัยต่าง ๆ กันนับตั้งแต่สมัยอยุธยาเป็นต้นมา ซึ่งผลงานลายรดน้ำเหล่านี้ช่างในยุคหลังยกย่องให้เป็นผลงานที่ยอดเยี่ยมเรียกกันต่อมาว่าฝีมือชั้นครู

สถาปัตยกรรมที่ล้ำค่าของคนไทย ปราสาทแห่งนี้มีสิ่งโดดเด่นแตกต่างจากปราสาททั่วไป เป็นปราสาทไม้ ที่มีการแกะสลัก ได้อย่างงดงาม เพื่อสืบสาน และฟื้นฟูภูมิปัญญาโบราณของไทย ด้วยระยะเวลาการก่อสร้าง ยาวนานกว่า 27 ปี

ปราสาทไม้สัจธรรม เกิดจากแนวคิดที่มาจากแก่นแท้แห่งความจริงของการเป็นมนุษย์ อันเกิดจาก พ่อ แม่ ดิน ฟ้า พระอาทิตย์ พระจันทร์ และดวงดาว ซึ่งไม่ใช่เรื่องที่เพ้อฝัน แต่เป็นเรื่องสัจธรรม คำว่าปราสาทสัจธรรม บ่งบอกถึงความยิ่งใญ่ เกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ และดับไป การเคลื่อนตัวของจักรวาล

งานแกะสลักไม้ รูปเทพ รูปเทวดา หรือลวดลายอันวิจิตรต่างๆ ไม่ได้เป็นการลอกเลียนแบบผลงานจากอดีต แต่เป็นการเนรมิตขึ้นมาใหม่ จากการผสมผสานศิลป แขนงต่างๆ จนเรียกว่า เนรมิตศิลป ชมปราสาทไม้สัจธรรม ชมโมเดลโครงสร้าง ชมโรงแกะสลักสาธิต การแกะสลักไม้

ปราสาทสัจธรรม ณ บริเวณแหลมราชเวช ตำบลนาเกลือ อำเภอบางละมุง จังหวัดชลบุรีในเนื้อที่ประมาณ 80 ไร่ เป็นที่ตั้งของสถาปัตยกรรมไม้ที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดของสยามประเทศสถาปัตยกรรมไม้แห่งนี้ ชาวบ้านโดยทั่วไปเรียกว่า " วังโบราณ " บ้างก็เรียกตาม วัสดุของตัวอาคารที่สร้างด้วยไม้ว่า " ปราสาทไม้ " แต่เจ้าของความคิด และผู้ดำเนินการก่อสร้างคือ คุณเล็ก วิริยะพันธุ์ เรียกอาคารแห่งนี้ว่า "ปราสาทสัจธรรม "

ปราสาทสัจธรรม คือ ศิลปสถาปัตยกรรมที่สร้างด้วยไม้ที่ยิ่งใหญ่แห่งศตวรรษ ซึ่งเป็นรูปธรรมที่สัมผัสได้ และความหมายในด้านนามธรรม ได้สะท้อนและสื่อให้เห็นถึงความสำคัญของศาสนา และปรัชญาซึ่งเป็นสิ่งค้ำจุนโลก และสิ่งสำคัญอีกประการหนึ่งคือ ปรัญชาในการมุ่งสู่ความหลุดพ้นสู่โลกหน้าในอุดมคติ ซึ่งเป็นความใฝ่ฝันของมนุษย์ทุกรูปทุกนาม ปราสาทสัจธรรมแห่งนี้อุบัติขึ้นจากความสำนึกของคนตะวันออก ที่ว่าความเป็นมนุษย์ที่ผ่านมานับพันปีเป็นสิ่งที่จรรโลงโลกมาได้ด้วยสัจธรรมทางศาสนา และปรัชญาโดยมีศิลปะเป็นสื่อเนื้อหา และความหมายไม่ใช่เป็นสิ่งที่คิดขึ้นใหม่ด้วยความอหังการ์หากได้นำเอาสิ่งที่ดีงามที่มีอยู่ในศาสนา และปรัชญา และศิลปกรรมมาปรุงแต่งให้เหมาะสมกับกาลเทศะ

The good and the bad!
This was a very interesting book to look at - HOWEVER, the author recommends too many tools, and they are tools that are too expensive for me to buy. Just buying one tool at the prices I found on the Internet would have been my limit.

Product Description

These finger guards are the best insurance against cuts on the fingers from carving with hand tools. They fit well, are very comfortable, and are made of top quality leather.

Don’t Buy for a beginner
This is not a very good product for a beginner. It makes carving very cumbersome and will not provide much protection.

For the expert, you really don’t need the protection.

This is an extremely useful item for all those who are wood carving. Can recommend it highly.
